Elvgreen and Friends Jumbo

They're bigger and better than ever! This August, Comic Images will introduce ELVGREN & FRIENDS Jumbo Collector Cards, oversized trading cards measuring 3" x 4" which are guaranteed to make a BIG impression.

The series features an artist who was larger than life in the 40s and 50s, Gil Elvgren. Elvgren's pin-up girls were the talk of the town in his day when they graced billboards, magazines, playing cards and the like. But it was Elvgren's special style of calendar art for which he is best remembered. His beautiful calendar girls embodied a girl-next-door innocence with a sensual edge that has kept collectors yearning for his work for more than 50 years.

Joining Elvgren in this 36 Collector Card Series are pin-up artist greats from the same era, Rolf Armstrong, Earl Moran, Zoe Mozert and Billy De Vorrs. Their classic images make even more of an impression on 24 pt extra-thick stock.

The card backs will be written by Marianne Phillips, one of Elvgren's most popular models and a pin-up art collector and enthusiast. Phillips shares her memories and gives her insight into what it was like working with these legends of a golden era.

Chase Cards will include: 6 Jumbo Clearchrome Cards (1:15) - Cards measuring 3" x 4" in a Clearchrome finish, featuring the best of the classic pin-up artists' work.

Also available will be a Deluxe Elvgren & Friends 3-Ring Binder which will hold the entire set of cards, including chase cards. The binder features full-color printing and will include eleven, 4-pocket pages to hold the jumbo cards.
